MEMSPA requires an astute, inspirational and visionary leader. This individual must have demonstrated exceptional communication, interpersonal, entrepreneurial, organizational leadership and management skills. Solid financial management experience, effective knowledge of government relations and thorough comprehension of state and national P-20 educational systems and challenges is expected.
Knowledge of membership retention, recruitment and diversity, the ability to analyze and communicate on educational issues, effective marketing and public relations skills and utilization of the newest technologies is essential.
Candidates should possess a minimum of a Master’s Degree (or documentation of significant progress) and preferably, non-profit association experience. Professional travel to represent the organization is expected.
